Competitive Salary Package (OSD)

Remuneration is based on the Occupational Specific Dispensation (OSD) and is commensurate with your experience level:

  • Grade 1: R872,709 per annum
  • Grade 2: R1,014,705 per annum
  • Grade 3: R1,174,848 per annum

Who We Are Looking For: Requirements

To be considered for this pivotal role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • A Master’s Degree (M-degree) in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience.
  • Current full registration with the HPCSA as an Industrial and Organizational Psychologist in Independent Practice.
  • Must be a South African citizen (RSA) and not hold dual citizenship.
  • Willingness to be appointed as Public Service Act Personnel (PSAP).
  • A readiness to learn and understand military culture and organizational ethos.
  • Must be willing to travel as required.
  • Computer literacy is essential.

Key Competencies: Communication, Planning and Organizing, Problem-solving, Analytical Thinking, and Emotional Intelligence.

Your Key Responsibilities: Duties

As an I/O Psychologist at the MPI, your role will be diverse and impactful. Your duties will include:

  • Providing specialized Industrial and Organizational Psychology services in line with HPCSA scope of practice.
  • Acting as a specialist advisor on assessments, selections, and development programs.
  • Conducting needs analyses and designing tailored intervention programs.
  • Developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensuring the sound execution of projects.
  • Upholding the highest ethical and professional standards as prescribed by the HPCSA.
  • Executing projects both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Monitoring service standards and implementing corrective measures to ensure quality.

Important Notes for Applicants

  • Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies of qualifications (not older than six months).
  • Applicants must submit a separate Z83 form and CV for each post applied for.
  • The successful candidate will be subjected to Personnel Suitability Checks (criminal record, citizenship, financial/asset checks, qualification verification) and a security clearance process.
  • Shortlisted candidates will undergo two pre-entry assessments (a practical and an ethical exercise).

  • Appointment will be subject to a probation period of twelve (12) months.
