Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- A three-year qualification at NQF Level 6 in Labour Relations, BCOM Law, or LLB.
- No prior experience is required, making this an ideal graduate position.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of: Departmental policies and procedures, Skills Development Act, Labour Relation Act (LRA), Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), Unemployment Insurance Act (UIA), Unemployment Insurance Contributions Act (UICA), and Employment Equity Act (EEA).
- Key Skills: Facilitation, Planning and Organizing, Computer Literacy, Interpersonal, Problem Solving, Interviewing, Analytical, and Verbal & Written Communication.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As an Inspector, your role will be dynamic and impactful. Your duties will include:
- Conducting occupational inspections to ensure compliance with all labour laws.
- Investigating reported cases of labour legislation contraventions and enforcing compliance.
- Performing proactive (Blitz) inspections to monitor adherence to legislation.
- Conducting advocacy campaigns to educate on various labour laws.
- Assisting in drafting inspection plans and reports, and compiling case statistics.
