The NECSA (South African Nuclear Energy Corporation) Apprenticeship Training Programme for 2024 is now accepting applications.

This programme is designed to equip young South Africans with high-demand skills through a combination of formal training and invaluable on-the-job experience. If you meet the criteria, this could be your first step towards a rewarding and stable career.

Available Trades

This apprenticeship programme is offering training in two critical engineering fields:

  • Metal Machinist (Turner)
  • Toolmaker

Who Should Apply? Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this life-changing opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

1. Educational Qualifications (You need one of the following):

  • NQF Level 4 (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Science
  • N2, N3, N4, N5, or N6 Certificate with 4 subjects, including the relevant trade theory
  • Technical Matric (N3) with Mathematics, Science, and relevant trade theory
  • NCV Level 3 or Level 4 Certificate in Engineering with 7 subjects, including relevant trade theory

2. Additional Criteria:

  • Possess a strong technical aptitude and knowledge
  • Be a team player with the ability to work well with others
  • Must be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Successfully complete all screening protocols, including:
    • Medical fitness assessment
    • Security clearance
    • Verification of all qualifications
  • Only South African citizens will be considered.

Applicants from the following provinces are encouraged to apply:

  • Eastern Cape
  • Free State
  • KwaZulu-Natal
  • Limpopo
  • Mpumalanga
  • Northern Cape
  • North West
