About the Role: Plant Operator
As a Plant Operator, you will be the eyes and ears on the ground, ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the plant and tank farm. You will report directly to the Shift Supervisor and play a hands-on role in maintaining production standards and safety protocols. This position is perfect for someone who is proactive, enjoys teamwork, and isn’t afraid to take on responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor & Control: Oversee field operations of the plant and tank farm.
- Maintain Records: Accurately record plant conditions and report any abnormalities or faulty equipment.
- Quality Analysis: Analyze plant and product samples and assist in chemical and product batch preparations.
- Safety First: Prepare work clearance permits and monitor contractors to ensure a safe working environment.
- Logistics Support: Inspect and fill road tankers or ISO-tanks for dispatch.
- Team Collaboration: Maintain excellent working relationships with all personnel.
- Act as Panel Operator: Step into the role of Panel Operator when required.
- Housekeeping: Ensure all areas are kept clean and tidy, adhering to strict safety and housekeeping protocols.
- Compliance: Work in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Responsible Care standards.
Do You Have What It Takes?
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Education: Grade 12 (Standard 10) with a minimum of 40% in both English and Mathematics.
- Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and listening English communication skills.
- Personality: Motivated, confident, and a true team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Work Ethic: Reliable, accountable, and proactive in your duties.
- Availability: Must be prepared to work shifts (day/night) or be on standby as per the operational roster.
- Background Check: Must have a clear criminal record.
- Transport: Own transport is required for this location.
