Who Should Apply? The Requirements.

To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • A National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Office Management, Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in office management and administration, preferably within a Human Resource environment.
  • A solid understanding of applicable HR legislation and procedures.
  • Strong planning, organising, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Good computer literacy, specifically in MS Word and Excel.

Your Key Responsibilities: The Duties

As the Administrative Assistant, you will be the backbone of the HR Directorate’s daily operations. Your duties will include:

  • Managing the electronic diary, scheduling appointments, and ensuring compliance with legislative deadlines.
  • Coordinating business travel and accommodation arrangements.
  • Preparing documentation for meetings, arranging venues, and recording minutes.
  • Typing correspondence, reports, and presentations using MS Office Suite.
  • Handling incoming and outgoing mail, maintaining both manual and computerized filing systems.
  • Performing general administrative tasks like office stationery control, photocopying, scanning, and managing expense claims.
  • Tracking and following up on documents requiring action or approval.
