The Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to join their Media Production directorate on a 12-month contract. Position Details:

  • Post: Audiovisual Librarian
  • Reference Number: 3/1/5/1-25/12
  • Directorate: Media Production
  • Contract Duration: Twelve (12) Months
  • Salary: R325,101 per annum (Level 07), plus 37% in lieu of benefits
  • Centre: GCIS Head Office, Pretoria
  • Closing Date: 20 June 2025

What We’re Looking For: Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • A Grade 12 certificate.
  • An appropriate three-year National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or a Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Information Science, Multimedia Studies, or a related equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA.
  • At least one (1) year of relevant experience in duplicating and archiving audiovisual products (Radio, Video, Graphic Design, Digital and Online platforms).
  • Innovative, digitally literate, and up-to-date with the latest digital communication trends and applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the PFMA (1999) and Supply Chain Management processes.
  • Computer literacy, coordination, and project management skills.
  • Client-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
  • A valid Code 08 driver’s licence is essential due to extensive travelling.
  • Basic knowledge of administration and finances.

Your Key Responsibilities: Duties

The successful candidate will be entrusted with the following duties:

  • Logging, archiving, updating, and maintaining the audiovisual library database.
  • Compiling and providing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on audiovisual material.
  • Supplying audiovisual material to clients in their requested formats.
  • Providing camera work and teleprompter services when required.
  • Supplying footage for GOZATV.
