About The Role

Are you a strategic thinker passionate about improving business processes through technology? The State Information Technology Agency (SITA) is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join their Service Management division. In this pivotal role, you will be the key liaison between business needs and technology solutions, working to enhance interoperability and service delivery across government departments.

You will report directly to a Senior Business Analyst and be responsible for the end-to-end analysis, design, and specification of target business solutions that align with government enterprise architecture and ICT standards.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Consult with government department clients to define and document business needs, objectives, and operational procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for business process improvement through both system and non-system changes.
  • Create detailed business requirements analysis, work packages, and model target solution specifications.
  • Conduct research, feasibility studies, and risk & impact analyses.
  • Solicit client requirements through interviews, workshops, and analysis of existing documentation.
  • Communicate project deliverables clearly to all stakeholders and recommend change proposals.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualification: A 3-Year National Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 6) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related IT field.

Experience Required: 3-5 years of experience in:

  • Business and systems analysis.
  • Business process management and engineering/re-engineering.
  • Business modelling, architecture, and specification development (URS, BRS, FDS).
  • Solution architecture and conducting feasibility studies.

Technical Knowledge & Competencies

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of:

  • Corporate and ICT Governance, SDLC methodologies, and Solution Design.
  • Enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
  • IT Quality Management, IT Security, and relevant ICT Standards.
  • Project Management and Application Maintenance.

Critical behavioural competencies include strong analytical and critical thinking, attention to detail, resilience, effective communication, and teamwork.

Remuneration

A competitive salary package is offered, ranging from R 478,420 to R 717,630 per annum.
