Purpose of the Job

The core purpose of this role is to implement technology solutions in a cost-effective manner by meticulously determining project requirements and communicating them clearly to all stakeholders, facilitators, and partners. You will be responsible for the review, assessment, and development of business processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

As a Business Analyst at SITA, you will be entrusted with a range of critical duties, including:

  • Consulting with client management (Government Departments) to identify, define, and document business needs, objectives, and operational procedures.
  • Identifying opportunities for business process improvement through both system and non-system changes.
  • Creating detailed business requirements analysis and design work packages aligned with SITA’s development stack and government enterprise architecture (e.g., GWEA Framework).
  • Modelling and developing Target Business Solution Specifications in accordance with ICT standards.
  • Managing client expectations to ensure IT solutions perfectly meet their needs.
  • Executing functional testing of software using SITA-approved tools and participating in the packaging and release of integrated IT components.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • A 3-year Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related IT field (NQF Level 6).
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in business analysis, business process management, and engineering/re-engineering.
  • Hands-on experience in business modelling and business architecture.

Technical Knowledge Required:

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge in: Corporate and ICT Governance, Development Methodologies, IT Quality Management, IIBA principles, Business Process Management, IT Security, relevant IT Legislation, and Enterprise Architecture frameworks like TOGAF and Zachman.

Critical Competencies:

  • Technical: Business Analysis, Business Intelligence & Analytics.
  • Behavioural: Attention to Detail, Analytical Thinking, Discipline, Resilience, and Stress Management.
