The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to fill the role of Chief Accounting Clerk for Payroll at its National Office in Pretoria. Position Details
- Reference Number: 25/59/FMS
- Centre: National Office, Pretoria
- Salary: R325,101 – R382,959 per annum. The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance agreement.

Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience.
- In-depth knowledge of key legislation and frameworks, including:
- Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
- Treasury Regulations
- Public Service Act and Regulations
- Division of Revenue Act (DORA)
- Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA)
- Public Audit Act
- Payroll administration policies.
Skills and Competencies:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong budgeting and financial management abilities
- A high level of confidentiality and integrity
- Superior interpersonal and customer service skills
- Problem-solving, research, and analytical skills
- Presentation and facilitation skills
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
- Supervise and render financial accounting transactions.
- Supervise and perform bookkeeping and salary administration support services.
- Render budget support services.
- Provide effective people management and supervision.
