Are you a seasoned financial management professional with strategic leadership skills? The National Office in Pretoria is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the pivotal role of Deputy Director: Budget Planning. This senior position offers a competitive salary and the chance to play a key role in national financial governance.

Salary and Benefits

  • Remuneration: R896,436 – R1,055,958 per annum (all-inclusive remuneration package).
  • The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance agreement.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Qualification: An NQF level 7 qualification in Management Accounting, Financial Management, Financial Accounting, or Public Finance as recognized by SAQA.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a finance environment at a managerial (Assistant Director) level.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge and understanding of:
    • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
    • Budget management
    • Public Service Regulations and Act
    • Treasury Regulations
    • Public Audit Act

Skills and Competencies: Strategic capability and leadership, Programme and project management, Financial management, Change management, Knowledge management, Service Delivery Innovation (SDI), Problem solving and analysis, People management and empowerment, Client orientation, Communication, Computer literacy, Honesty and integrity.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

  • Coordinate and facilitate the budget planning process of the Department.
  • Coordinate the standardization of Budget Planning processes.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the roll-over, Adjustment Estimates of National Expenditure (AENE), and virement processes.
  • Coordinate the maintenance of Budgets Information in the Department’s Financial and Procurement Systems.
  • Provide effective people management.
