Purpose of the Role

The successful candidate will be tasked with a critical mission: to manage and create an enabling environment, policy framework, and strategic reforms. This ensures equitable access to digital services and promotes an inclusive, modern SOE Postal sector that serves all South Africans.

Requirements

To be considered for this leadership role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Qualification: An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 6) in Engineering Technology, Public Policy, or a relevant field.
  • Experience: A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the telecommunication sector, with at least three (3) years proven work experience at an Assistant Director level.
  • Key Competencies: Advanced skills in Policy Development, Operational Management, Financial Management, Stakeholder Management, Risk Management, and Change Management.

Key Responsibilities

The Deputy Director will be at the helm of several crucial functions:

  • Implementing strategic plans and policies for postal services.
  • Driving policy development and the SEIAS processes to ensure a robust legal and stakeholder-informed framework.
  • Leading research on Postal Financial Services to support digital transformation and innovation.
  • Collaborating with government agencies, private sector partners, and service providers to address challenges and foster innovation.
  • Managing partnerships to accelerate the delivery of current and future postal service requirements.
  • Overseeing project management, financial resources, and compliance.
