Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

Education:

  • A three-year National Diploma (NQF6) or an Undergraduate Bachelor Degree (NQF7) in one of the following fields:
    • Media Production
    • Graphic Design
    • Marketing / Digital Marketing
    • Communication Science
    • Web Development

Experience:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of functional experience in:
    • Media production
    • Social media management
    • Digital content creation

Essential Knowledge:

  • Programmes and legislation of the Department of Employment and Labour.
  • Protocols and guidelines for Electronic media (Social media and website).
  • Video shooting and editing.
  • Website and Social media management.
  • Social Media platforms and tools.
  • Live streaming technologies and platforms.

Critical Skills:

  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
  • Excellent photography and photo editing skills.
  • Graphic design skills (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Client Service, Planning and organising, and Negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Administering the Department’s Electronic Media platforms, including its Website, Intranet, Social Media, and Exchange Postmaster.
  • Implementing and monitoring standards, norms, and protocols for all Electronic Media content.
  • Generating engaging and relevant content for the Department’s social media accounts.
