An exceptional executive career opportunity is now available for a visionary leader to steer the strategic direction of the State Information Technology Agency (SITA). This high-impact role is based at the SITA Head Office in Pretoria and comes with a competitive, five-year fixed-term employment contract.

Rewarding Compensation Package

This executive position offers a substantial total remuneration package, ranging between R2,783,486 and R4,175,230, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Purpose of the Job

The successful candidate will be tasked with the strategic transformation and effective positioning of SITA as the lead Government ICT organisation. The core purpose is to enable public sector service delivery by directing the development of long-term objectives, policies, budgets, and operating plans. This role is vital for building a customer-focused organisation to ensure overall viability and success.

Who Should Apply? Essential Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this prestigious role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum NQF Level 8 qualification in Business Management, ICT-Related Engineering (including Electrical), IT, or a related field. Note: All foreign qualifications must be accompanied by a SAQA accreditation certificate.
  • A Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in a relevant field will be a distinct advantage.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience at a Senior Management level, with at least five (5) years at an Executive Management level.
  • Proven experience in dealing with a Board of Directors or an equivalent governance structure.
  • Experience in developing and implementing organisational turnaround plans is highly desirable.

Key Performance Areas

The Executive will be responsible for a wide range of critical functions, including:

  • Providing strategic direction and developing long-term corporate strategy.
  • Ensuring full compliance with corporate governance (PFMA, King IV) and all legislative provisions.
  • Overseeing financial performance, budgeting, revenue forecasting, and ensuring statutory compliance.
  • Leading and managing the Executive Committee (EXCO) team to achieve organisational objectives.
  • Building a proactive, high-performance culture and implementing executive succession plans.
  • Managing strategic Human Resources and ensuring Employment Equity targets are met.
  • Serving as an executive director on the Board and carrying associated fiduciary duties.
  • Ongoing engagement with all relevant stakeholders, including government structures.
